James Dickey's best-seller makes for a stirring adventure-drama about four business associates whose weekend in the wilds turns tragic. Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds are fine as two of the execs, and completing the quartet, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox both make impressive film debuts. Ned squeals like a pig much to the ecstatic moans of two greasy hillbillies. Jon Voight would have been our preference!
